- Event file format has changed. As usual the .evn4 will be supported in loading but all the events will be now saved as .evn5 files.
- The Locations File format has changed as well. Now the user can embed an existing horizon profile (just the file name, no path is necessary) into the to the desired location so that when a location is set as current the corresponding horizon profile will be loaded.
- The most relevant change to Locations File is that from now on, any modification done by the user won’t be overwritten after an application update. The first time this new version is running, a new path called USER_PATH/Locations will be created containing a standard locations file. The user can add/delete/modify everything inside this file and changes will be permanent, and no export/import the Locations will be needed when a new version of U1 will be out. Consequently the menus Export / Import of the Locations File have disappeared. The bad news is that you will loose any change you’ve done so far, this time only.
- Some cosmetic change to the buttons used in U1. This should get a better view with the Dark Mode on Macs.
5. JPL DE440 has replaced the older DE438.
6. The button that manually updated the Compute Engine has disappeared, now TZ ad Altitude changes of value trigger an automatic update.
7. New buttons for switching to EQT, HOR and All Sky view. The graphic window can show now up to three dynamic series of data DE1, DE2, DE3 ( I mean data change when UDC, RTC or Time Change is used). Still have to decide what to show in DE3 window.
8. Just a note. The weird effect shown by the image below is merely due to the refraction management. Stars under the dipped horizon, say with an altitude lesser than -1.5° have their refraction not computed of course, so an empty zone is generated. It’s not a bug and has no effect whatsoever.
