Hi
I just downloaded the new version of Uruk_One with its last improvements.
I was unable to download astorb.dat via FTP : message Il server FTP non risponde
I will try later because it is a server failure, meanwhile the file can be downloaded manually.
Keep up the good Work.
Best regards.
HI,
never seen an FTP server worse than this one. I think it’s not depending on network traffic. The first connection usually is very slow (rarely I got no response), trying again the file reception takes no more than few seconds. I suspect that it’s not a “true” server, but a PC going into suspend mode when not receiving requests. As soon as a new request comes it must exit from sleep responding slowly or not at all.
My bad, I left an Italian message into the trapping code. Anyway I have included a further panel for tracking what’s going on with the connection. If other bugs won’t come out I’ll put all this stuff on the next version.
Alberto
P.S.
C’mon folks, I can see the Application is downloaded from several countries in the world. Don’t be shy, any feedback is appreciated 🙂
Hi
For your information
New ephemeris DE440 and DE441 announced by JPL on 18 December 2020: https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/?planet_eph_export
Instead of writing DE440 and DE441 after DE432, they write again DE430 and DE431.
However the ASCII files : ftp://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/eph/planets/ascii/
are still empty.
Best regards
Thanks for the info
Alberto
